Erdinger's non-alcoholic wheat beer blended 50/50 with pink grapefruit juice, giving it a bittersweet citrus tang and a pale pink colour.
About This Drink
This is a straight blend of Erdinger Alkoholfrei and a grapefruit refreshment drink. No artificial flavourings, no stabilisers. The grapefruit side contributes natural fruit and bittersweet tang, plus a pink hue from acerola and anthocyanin colouring. Like the rest of the Alkoholfrei range, it carries vitamins B12 and C. The pour is a soft grapefruit pink, naturally hazy from the wheat beer base, with a lightly rosé-tinted white head. On the nose, freshly cut grapefruit is the dominant note, with quiet malt underneath. The palate is led by bittersweet pink grapefruit, tangy but not sharp, with the wheat beer base adding a little body and stopping it from tasting one-dimensional. Carbonation is fine and lively. The finish is sweet-bitter and fairly short. It's not trying to taste like beer and it doesn't. More of a mid-point between wheat beer and fruit drink, which suits it well for post-sport or warm weather.
