About This Drink
USKO Citrus is made by Spirits of Virtue, using the same Scottish Deeside spring water base as their Original but taking things in a deliberately zesty direction. Lemon and lime lead on the nose, sharp and vivid, with yuzu adding a slightly more complex citrus character alongside a green, herbal lift from cucumber and verbena. On the palate the acidity is real but the vegetable glycerine softens it, giving the drink more body than you might expect from something this light. Lime zest comes through mid-palate with a faint floral note from the verbena, before the finish settles into a cool cucumber fade. It is clean and consistent throughout. It works well in long builds where you would normally add citrus anyway: soda, tonic, ginger beer. The flavour carries without needing much help. Like the Original, it is not really designed to be drunk neat.
