About This Drink
Limbo Dragonfruit is part of Mikkeller's alcohol-free sour series, brewed at De Proefbrouwerij in Belgium with the mikkellensis yeast strain. That yeast brings a tart passionfruit character to the base before any fruit is added. Pitaya — red dragonfruit — goes in on top, though its contribution to the flavour is more delicate than the vivid colour implies. The aroma carries the yeast's familiar tropical tartness alongside a subtle floral quality from the dragonfruit. On the palate, it reads as pear and kiwi rather than the bold tropical hit the name might suggest. The sour base provides acidity and structure; the fruit sits in front of it, keeping things light. Carbonation is soft and the mouthfeel follows suit. Serve cold, ideally in a glass that gives the aroma room. It's a good summer option, or alongside lighter food where you want something tart rather than sweet.
