Tundra is one of two non-alcoholic IPAs in Põhjala's range, built around Citra and Yellow Sub hops with golden naked oats and maltodextrin in the grain bill, plus lactose and spruce tips added during the brew. The spruce is the interesting variable here. It's restrained rather than dominant, showing up as a resinous, earthy note beneath the tropical fruit rather than taking over. The nose opens with caramel and toffee in the background, then mango and passionfruit come through, with pine resin from the spruce behind that. On the palate, overripe mango and melon lead, the oat body smooths things out, and the finish lands on lemon zest with a faint resinous carry. The carbonation gives a pleasant tingle throughout. Lean on calories at 21 kcal per 100ml. Contains lactose and barley, so not suitable for vegans or those with a gluten intolerance.
