Paulaner
Paulaner traces its origins to 1634 Munich, when monks of the Paulaner order began brewing beer for their fasting periods. Nearly four centuries later, the brewery remains one of Germany's most respected, supplying beer to Oktoberfest as one of only six permitted breweries.
That heritage matters when it comes to their alcohol-free offerings. Paulaner created the world's first non-alcoholic Weissbier back in 1986, decades before the category became fashionable. They called it Waitzinger Weissbier then. Today it's Hefe-Weißbier Non-Alcoholic.
The current range covers different needs. The Weissbier 0,0% contains strictly zero residual alcohol. The Hefe-Weißbier Non-Alcoholic sits under 0.5% for those comfortable with trace amounts. Both follow the Bavarian Beer Purity Law, using only natural ingredients.
Paulaner markets their wheat beer as isotonic, which gives it a popular second life as a post-exercise drink. The Weizen-Radler Non-Alcoholic takes a different angle: wheat beer blended with natural lemonade, leaning citrus over the characteristic malt base.
Distribution across the UK is strong. You'll find Paulaner in supermarkets, specialist beer shops, and online retailers. Among German wheat beer producers, they have the longest track record in the alcohol-free space by some distance.
