About This Drink
The Radler is a Bavarian pub staple, traditionally half beer and half lemonade. Paulaner's AF version takes their dealcoholised wheat beer and blends it with a natural lemonade using lemon, orange, lime and acerola juice, bringing the whole thing to a confirmed 0.0%. Pours a hazy pale straw-gold. Lemon and orange lead on the nose, with the malt sitting further back. On the palate the citrus is front and centre, tart and fairly bright, with the lemonade's sweetness keeping it in balance. The wheat beer base comes through mid-palate, giving it slightly more substance than a straight soft drink. The finish is clean with a gentle citrus peel note. At 35 kcal per 100ml it's the most caloric of Paulaner's AF range, which is the fruit juice doing that. Works cold from the fridge on a warm day.
