Wolf Blass
Wolfgang Blass arrived in Australia from Germany in 1961 with little money but plenty of ambition. He founded Wolf Blass in 1966 in the Barossa Valley, and the winery grew into one of Australia's biggest names. That pioneering spirit now extends to their Zero range of alcohol-free wines.
The range uses South Australian fruit, gently dealcoholised to preserve character. The Sauvignon Blanc blends citrus and tropical fruit with a crisp finish. The Shiraz delivers robust, dark fruit with appropriate dryness and tannic structure. The Rosé captures vibrant fruit notes in a refreshing format. The Sparkling adds dried pear, brioche, and nutty complexity with good bubble texture.
Wolf Blass Zero represents a major Australian winery taking alcohol-free seriously. These aren't afterthought products; they apply the same winemaking knowledge that built the brand's reputation over nearly six decades.
The Shiraz stands out in the range, holding its structure better than many dealcoholised reds. Good mouthfeel and genuine dryness are harder to achieve than most producers admit.
Available at Sainsbury's in the UK and widely across Australian retailers. The official Wolf Blass website ships direct. Barossa heritage at mid-range pricing.
