About This Drink
Six hops is a broad palette for a NEIPA. Brulo uses Simcoe, Mosaic, Idaho 7, Nelson Sauvin, Sabro, and Polaris together, layering tropical and citrus characters across a grain bill of Pilsner, Pale Ale, Wheat, and Oats. The Madagascan vanilla is a small addition but it rounds the body noticeably, sitting beneath the hops rather than competing with them. The pour is hazy and deep golden. Pineapple, grapefruit, and mango come through clearly on the nose, with a subtle tropical sweetness. On the palate it's smooth and juicy, the oats lending a soft creaminess that's typical of the style. Bitterness is low, keeping everything easy on the palate. The finish fades gently with a residual tropical note. The vanilla doesn't announce itself, but without it the beer would feel thinner. A well-constructed NEIPA for the ABV.
