Bruin
A 0.4% Belgian-style brown ale built on caramel malt and a touch of cinnamon spice, sitting somewhere between a dubbel and a classic Flemish bruin.
About This Drink
Force Majeure Bruin lands in the space between a Belgian dubbel and a Flemish bruin: malt-forward and dark without tipping into heavy sweetness. It pours dark amber to brown with a tan head. Caramel and toffee lead on the nose, with a light cinnamon spice and roasted grain underneath. On the palate it is smooth and rounded, with enough carbonation to keep things from feeling flat. The roasted malt adds depth rather than bitterness, and the finish fades softly with a gentle malt sweetness. It suits hearty food well. Think stews, aged cheeses, braised meats. Serve around 10–12°C to get the most from the malt character.
