Uptime is a step up in flavour complexity from Reef Point, Big Drop's other lager. The dual hop bill of Hersbrucker and Magnum brings more presence on the nose: herbal and floral, with the Hersbrucker's traditional noble character in the lead. Maltodextrin in the grain bill adds a slight fullness to the body without making it heavy. On the palate there's a hint of caramel malt, then the peppered spice and herbal quality of the hops, and a touch of orange that carries into the finish. Bitterness is mild. The finish is clean with a gentle citrus fade. Vegan-friendly and gluten-free. A well-rounded everyday lager that works with most food. Serve cold.
