Lemon
A naturally fermented lemon soft drink from Estonian brewer A. Le Coq, built on a non-alcoholic beer base and following the German Fassbrause tradition.
About This Drink
Fassbrause Lemon follows a style that originated in Germany and found particular popularity in Berlin: a naturally fermented malt drink blended with fruit juice, lighter than a radler, less sweet than most sodas. A. Le Coq has been brewing in Tartu since 1807, and this is their Estonian take on it. It pours pale straw with fine, steady carbonation. The nose is clean lemon zest with a trace of grain and a faint citrus blossom note. On the palate the tartness is gentle rather than aggressive, with the beer base adding a dry, slightly earthy backbone that separates it from mainstream lemon sodas. The finish is short and clean. B vitamins are added across the range.
