Peach
A naturally fermented peach soft drink from Estonian brewer A. Le Coq, using a non-alcoholic beer base blended with peach juice concentrate.
About This Drink
Fassbrause Peach sits in the same tradition as the rest of the range: a malt-based, naturally fermented drink blended with fruit, rooted in a 19th-century German style that sits somewhere between a radler and a fruit soda. The colour is a warm amber-orange, partly from the peach juice and partly from E120 colouring. Carbonation is gentle. The peach on the nose is soft and summery, with a trace of apricot, and the palate follows suit: the fruit character is clear without being jammy, the malt base provides some dry counterbalance, and the sweetness is moderate. The finish fades cleanly. One note worth flagging: E120 is cochineal, an insect-derived colouring, so this one is not vegan.
