Mojito
A mojito-inspired soft drink from Estonian brewer A. Le Coq, using a naturally fermented beer base with lemon juice and mint to build the flavour.
About This Drink
Fassbrause Mojito takes mint and citrus and builds them on a non-alcoholic beer base rather than rum, following the Fassbrause style A. Le Coq has made its own. The barley malt and hops give the drink a dry, slightly bready structure that differentiates it from a straight flavoured soda. It pours pale blue-green (from food colouring E133), with lively carbonation. Lemon zest and fresh mint dominate both the nose and the palate, with the citrus arriving first and the mint coming through as a cooling note mid-palate. The sweetness is restrained compared to most cocktail-inspired soft drinks. There's a faint hop earthiness underneath if you're looking for it, and the finish is light and briefly minty. This is probably the most distinctive drink in the Fassbrause range, simply because the colour and flavour combination is unusual for a beer-based product.
