About This Drink
High Sobriety Raspberry uses the same naturally fermented apple base as the original, with fresh raspberry juice added rather than flavouring. Made in Warwickshire, the base cider uses fresh-pressed bittersweet apples and aged apple cider vinegar for structure, with the raspberry contributing both colour and tartness. It pours a vivid pink-red with moderate carbonation. The nose is direct: fresh raspberry with a little hedgerow tartness and a faint apple note underneath. On the palate the raspberry leads, sharp and bright, balanced by soft apple sweetness and the slight bite of the vinegar. The finish is clean and drying with a faint raspberry peel quality. The tartness is the thing that sets it apart from the category. Most AF fruit ciders trend sweet and synthetic; this one doesn't.
