High Sobriety Original Cider
Alcohol-free apple cider naturally fermented from fresh-pressed English cider apples, with a small addition of aged cider vinegar giving it the acidity and structure that alcoholic cider carries naturally.
About This Drink
Made in Warwickshire from fresh-pressed English cider apples, High Sobriety ferments naturally before Hogans adds a measure of their own aged apple cider vinegar. That vinegar addition does real work: it builds the tannin structure and tartness that would otherwise come from alcohol, which is why this avoids the hollow sweetness that tends to betray cheaper AF ciders. Pale gold in the glass with a fine, persistent sparkle. The aroma is clean pressed apple, lightly earthy with a hint of orchard freshness. On the palate it's light-bodied and medium-dry, with crisp apple character and a gentle tartness. The finish is clean and quietly dry. It sits comfortably in the medium-dry bracket. Not as complex as a full-strength bittersweet cider, but honest and well-made for what it is.
Ingredients
