The zero-ABV version of Magners comes out of Clonmel, Co. Tipperary, where the original has been made for decades. Rather than dealcoholising a fully fermented cider, it uses a controlled fermentation process that limits alcohol formation, then blends in apple juice to round things out. In the glass it's light and carbonated with a clean apple aroma that leans fresh rather than sharp. The taste is straightforward: apple-forward with a bit of sweetness, a mild tartness, and a short, clean finish. It doesn't pretend to be complex. What it does do is sit comfortably in the cider space without tasting obviously synthetic or watery. It's a decent option if you want something easy and familiar at a barbecue or the pub without the alcohol. Widely stocked in supermarkets and increasingly appearing on draught. Gluten-free and vegan-certified.
