About This Drink
Silk Roots comes from the same Old Coach House Distillery in Monmouth as Celtic Myst, made in a copper pot still from organic herbs and spices blended with Welsh spring water. The botanical brief here looks east rather than west: cinnamon, cardamom, and clove instead of juniper and rosemary. The nose is warm and immediately recognisable as spice-led. Cinnamon comes first, with cardamom's sweet, slightly floral quality underneath and clove sitting deeper in the background. On the palate, those spices sit together comfortably through the mid-section before a bitter citrus note pulls things sharper toward the finish. It's a long finish, and the cinnamon and cardamom stay. The overall impression is dense without being heavy. Zero calories, no added sugars, sweeteners, colours, or artificial flavours.
