Alcohol-free Italian sparkling wine made from Glera grapes in the Veneto, with a brut profile and fine persistent bubbles.
About This Drink
La Gioiosa 0.0 is built around Glera, the grape that defines Prosecco, grown in Treviso. There's no production method listed, but the result has the markers of the style: very pale straw yellow, with that characteristic fine, persistent perlage. The nose is all ripe golden apple and white peach, with acacia blossom and a lift of citrus zest. It's floral without being cloying. On the palate, the brut classification holds up: this is dry rather than sweet, with good acidity and a velvety texture from the bubbles. The citrus brightness runs through to the finish, which is clean and short, leaving just a faint impression of citrus peel. For an alcohol-free sparkling wine, the structure is more convincing than most. It's not going to fool anyone who knows their Prosecco, but it's got the right bones: dry, lively, and not obviously synthetic.
