Clean T is designed to approximate blanco tequila without any alcohol. CleanCo uses a four-step proprietary process involving natural flavour extraction and vegetable glycerine for body, working to replicate the agave-forward character of the spirit it is standing in for. The nose opens with soft, fresh green agave and new oak, with hints of olive and a subtle fruitiness. On the palate it is smooth and slightly viscous with sweet melon and cedarwood, and the agave note carries through reasonably well. What distinguishes it most is the finish: dry, peppery and tingling, with a jalapeño-like heat that lingers. That peppery quality is probably the most convincing part of the profile. Clear and water-white, it behaves well in cocktails where tequila's bite matters: a Tommy's Margarita or a Paloma equivalent. Twelve calories per 50ml serving, no sugar, vegan and gluten-free.
