About This Drink
Eye For Symmetry follows the same blueprint as Deya's full-strength hazy IPAs, just at 0.5%. The hop bill is genuinely remarkable for the ABV: Mosaic BBC, Mosaic Cryo, Mosaic Hyperboost, El Dorado BBC, Motueka, Motueka SubZero Hop Kief and Nelson Sauvin SubZero Hop Kief. Using kief and cryo forms means more concentrated lupulin oils per gram, which is part of how Deya gets this much flavour out of a beer with no alcohol to carry it. It pours hazy pale gold with a white foam head. Ripe mango and passion fruit come through first on the nose, with white grape from the Nelson Sauvin and a resinous, piney edge underneath from the Mosaic. On the palate the hop flavour is full and juicy, landing on a soft biscuity malt base before a dry, clean finish with some lingering bitterness. For a 0.5% hazy IPA, the body is better than most. It avoids the thin, watery texture that lets down a lot of low-alcohol IPAs. Best served very cold from the can.
