About This Drink
Fudge City pours near-black with a creamy tan head. The name is fairly literal: the aroma opens on chocolate fudge and cocoa powder, with roasted malt, caramel, and a faint thread of vanilla in the background. It smells like a bakery, which is either appealing or not depending on what you're looking for. On the palate, it reads as dark cocoa bitterness balanced by gentle sweetness - less heavy than the nose suggests. The roasted coffee note sits underneath without dominating, and the mouthfeel is smooth and full-bodied without becoming cloying. The finish is soft and fudgy with a lightly roasty edge. It suits drinking slowly, in a tulip or snifter, at around 10-12 degrees.
