About This Drink
Burnside make everything the same way: Scottish mountain water, local malt, and clarification through time and temperature rather than filtration agents. Wayfinder is the lager in the range, and it translates that approach into something lighter and more straightforward than the brewery's IPA. It pours pale golden with a clean white head. The aroma is understated: faint grain, a mild floral hop note, a trace of biscuit. On the palate it is crisp without being thin, with gentle bready malt and a soft bitterness that does not demand attention. No sharp sweetness, no artificial tang. The finish is short and dry with a slight grainy note at the end. It will not convert anyone who finds alcohol-free lager underwhelming as a category, but as lagers in this space go it is clean and honest.
