About This Drink
Pours a deep ruby red with purple at the rim. The nose brings ripe cherry, blackberry and a hint of dark spice; it's not complex, but it's clean and properly dark-fruited rather than jammy or artificial. On the palate the body is medium with light, smooth tannins and a gentle sweetness. Cherry and red berry fruit run through the mid-palate, and the finish is relatively short, fading on red fruit with a faint spice note. The brief French oak contact is worth noting as a category differentiator. Most dealcoholised reds don't see any oak, and even this small amount gives the Garnacha Syrah a layer of texture it wouldn't otherwise have. The vacuum distillation keeps the aromatic profile intact. Serve at 14-16°C rather than room temperature.
