Double Tasty West Coast Style IPA

BERO's West Coast-style IPA, built on American hops and a clean malt backbone, with a dry bitter finish at 45 IBU.

About This Drink

Double Tasty takes a different direction from BERO's hazy IPA. Where that one is soft and juicy, this goes for structure: clear dark golden in the glass, prominent bitterness, and the kind of dry finish that recalls the classic California style rather than the murky New England school. The maltose-negative yeast approach means it ferments properly, which helps the hop character read clean rather than flat. Aroma-wise, citrus and pine resin come through first, with stone fruit behind them. On the palate there's grapefruit pith and tropical fruit, and the bitterness builds steadily rather than hitting all at once. The malt stays in the background throughout, just enough to keep things in check. The finish is long and drying, with lingering citrus peel.
