About This Drink
Kopparberg's Pear Alcohol-Free follows the same approach as the rest of the range: a fermented fruit base, dealcoholised, then blended with juice to reinforce the fruit character. Here it's pear on pear, with citric acid added to provide some balance. ABV is below 0.05%, gluten-free and vegan. It pours very pale straw, almost clear, with gentle carbonation. The aroma is delicate and soft, leading with ripe conference pear and a faint floral quality. On the palate the pear character is quite pronounced and on the sweet side, with a juicy body that sits slightly fuller than you might expect. The citric acid does useful work here, giving a light backbone that stops the sweetness becoming too much. The finish is short and sweet, with a lingering pear note. It is a straightforward, easy-drinking option, and probably the closest Kopparberg gets to something resembling a traditional cider profile, even if it is fruit-forward throughout.
