Dry Hopped
Clausthaler's hop-forward AF lager, dry-hopped with American Cascade before fermentation and left unfiltered for a hazy, citrus-led pour.
About This Drink
Most of Clausthaler's range is clean and straightforward. Dry Hopped is where they do something more interesting. American Cascade hops are added to the cooled wort before fermentation begins rather than during the boil, which means you get the aromatic hit of the hops without the extra bitterness that boil additions would bring. It pours a hazy amber-orange with a persistent white head. The nose has fresh grapefruit and tropical fruit with a light biscuit malt underneath. On the palate, there's sweet caramel malt upfront, then citrus and tropical fruit, with a clean moderately bitter finish at 29 IBU. The carbonation is gentle and the body sits comfortably at medium. It's one of the more hop-forward options in the non-alcoholic lager category, and worth trying if you normally find AF lagers too bland.
