Bavaria 0.0% Wit was launched in 2010 as the first non-alcoholic wit in the Netherlands. Like the rest of the Bavaria 0.0% range, it's brewed using a controlled process that prevents alcohol from forming rather than removing it afterwards. It pours hazy straw gold with a large, creamy white head. The aroma lands convincingly in wit territory: ripe banana up front, with orange peel and coriander spice working alongside it, and a bubblegum note underneath from the yeast. On the palate there's an initial wave of sweet wheat malt, but clove spice and orange keep things from going purely soft. Banana carries throughout the sip. The mouthfeel is creamy and medium-bodied with gentle carbonation. The finish is long and soft, with banana leading out and a gentle sweetness trailing. It's a faithful interpretation of the style, particularly so for an alcohol-free version. Serve in a weizen glass if you want to get the most from the aroma.
