Fre Red Blend combines California red varieties through conventional winemaking before the alcohol is extracted via spinning cone at low temperature. The recovered aromatics are blended back into the dealcoholised base. ABV comes in below 0.5%. It pours a deep ruby. Black cherry leads on the nose with mixed berry and a subtle smokiness that adds some complexity. The palate follows the same fruit-forward direction, with cherry dominant and the smoke sitting quietly in the background. Texture is smooth and the tannin structure, as with all dealcoholised reds, is minimal. Works alongside grilled salmon, roast chicken or tomato-based pasta where you want a red rather than a heavy one.
