Natureo Muscat was first produced in 2008 and is probably the wine that put Torres on the map in the alcohol-free category. The Muscat grape is a good choice for dealcoholisation: it has enough aromatic intensity to survive the process intact, and the low-temperature vacuum distillation Torres uses is well-suited to preserving that character. In the glass it's a pale straw with a slight gold edge. Orange blossom, white peach and lychee come through clearly on the nose, with a faintly honeyed backdrop. The palate is soft and gently sweet, with apricot and ripe citrus leading to a clean, fresh finish. There's no carbonation; the texture is round and unhurried. It's one of the better-known alcohol-free wines in the UK and tends to appear in supermarkets as well as specialist retailers.
