The brewery behind this has been operating since 1846 in Biella, in the foothills of the Italian Alps, and Zero Zero is their take on alcohol-free lager. It pours clear golden with good carbonation and a tidy white head. On the nose it's quietly bready with a faint floral note. The taste follows through with biscuit malt, a touch of sweetness, and a light herbal bitterness at the finish. Nothing about it is remarkable or surprising. It's just a decent, clean lager. At 17 calories per 100ml it's one of the lighter options in the category. The lager yeast method means it has that characteristic crispness you'd expect, and the bitterness, while mild, is enough to stop it tasting flat or sweet.
