About This Drink

Kaiserdom has been brewing in Bamberg since 1718 and was an early mover on alcohol-free beer, having produced a 0.0% since 1982. The Pilsner follows the Reinheitsgebot to the letter: water, barley malt, hops, yeast. Fermentation runs its course, then the alcohol is removed gently, without heat, which keeps the character closer to the real thing than some rivals. It pours clear pale gold with a modest white head. The nose is quietly floral with a light honey note and a faint lemon brightness. On the palate there's a soft pilsner malt sweetness up front, mild hop bitterness mid-palate, and a clean dry finish. Light-bodied, lively carbonation. Exactly what you'd expect from the style, done without fuss.
