Beefeater's zero-alcohol gin, made from botanical extracts rather than distilled spirit, with juniper and citrus doing most of the heavy lifting.

This is a compound product rather than dealcoholised gin - the botanicals are extracted directly and blended without any fermentation or distillation happening. It's a different process from most AF spirits, which matters if you care about that sort of thing, but the result is transparent and clean-tasting. Juniper comes through clearly on the nose and the palate, with orange and lemon peel adding brightness. There's a dry, slightly bitter finish that actually holds up reasonably well when mixed with tonic. The mouthfeel is lighter than proper gin - you notice the absence of alcohol more in texture than in flavour. It's a serviceable option in a G&T and an easy call for anyone who wants a gin-adjacent drink without the ABV. Probably best with a properly flavoured tonic rather than neutral - the botanicals need something to bounce off.
