The Social is Three Spirit's most complex botanical spirit. It's very dark, close to black with a reddish tint, and the flavour follows suit: dry spice on the nose, then rich cacao and a bitter earthiness that comes from the yerba mate and passion flower. The lion's mane mushroom and damiana are functional additions that some drinkers report noticing, though the flavour effect is more earthy than anything else. Where the Livener goes tropical and bright, the Social goes deep and bittersweet. The mouthfeel is full-bodied and syrupy, and the finish is contemplative rather than aggressive. It's not a mixer so much as a sipping spirit, though it works in stirred-down cocktail formats. Fifty millilitres over a large ice cube is the simplest approach. Add soda if you want length. The cacao and yerba mate make it feel close enough to a bitter digestif that it holds a natural place at the end of a meal.
