Dark Fruit 0.5% is unmistakably the same drink at a glance: deep purple-red in the glass, the kind of colour that immediately reads as "that cider". The nose is mostly sweet blackcurrant with apple sitting quietly underneath it. On the palate you get the dark berry juice front and centre, a bit of malic acid tartness, and then the apple reasserts itself toward the end. The mouthfeel is light and spritzy, which stops the sweetness from becoming cloying. The finish cleans up quickly without much dryness, which is very much in keeping with the style. It won't wrong-foot anyone expecting the full-strength version, and for a 0.5% cider that's a fair achievement.
