The Blutorange is a radler rather than a beer, and it does not try to hide that. Blood orange is the leading flavour from first sniff through to the finish, sharp and a little bitter at the edges in the way blood orange tends to be, with the wheat beer providing body and a mild herbal note that stops it tasting purely like a carbonated juice. It comes in at 26 kcal per 100ml and is fortified with vitamins C, B12, and folic acid. The blood orange element uses flavouring rather than fresh juice, though there is enough tartness in the finish to keep it from feeling syrupy. Light-bodied and spritzy, it goes down easily when cold.
