Zitrone
Erdinger's non-alcoholic wheat beer blended 50/50 with lemon juice, tangy and naturally hazy with no artificial additives.
About This Drink
Zitrone works the same way as the Grapefruit version: a straight 50/50 blend of Erdinger Alkoholfrei and a lemon refreshment drink, both using only natural ingredients. The lemon character comes from real juice and concentrated extract, not flavouring. Vitamins B12 and C are added, and there are no stabilisers or artificial additives. The colour is a pale wheat-ear yellow, naturally cloudy from the wheat beer base, topped with a fine white froth. Fresh lemon juice is immediately clear on the nose, with delicate wheat malt and a trace of citrus zest underneath. On the palate, natural lemon leads the way, tangy and bright, while the soft malt from the wheat beer base adds enough body to keep it from being one-note. The carbonation is lively with a faint tingle. The finish lingers briefly with lemon before fading clean. It's lighter and sharper than the Grapefruit version. If you find mainstream fruit-flavoured waters too sweet and beer-adjacent drinks too heavy, this sits somewhere usefully between the two.
