About This Drink
Carl Jung's Blanc de Blancs Chardonnay Sekt is made from Chardonnay grapes in the Sekt tradition, with alcohol removed via the brand's low-temperature vacuum extraction process. That method has been at the heart of the Carl Jung range for over a century, and the argument for it is that aromatics survive the process better than higher-heat alternatives. In the glass it shows pale gold with a persistent, fine bead. The nose is fresh and light: green apple at the front, a background note of peach, and a faint oaky undertone that adds a touch of complexity. On the palate it is crisp and semi-dry, with lively carbonation and a fruit-driven character. The finish is dry and brief. It is a clean, simple sparkling wine. Nothing about it pretends to be Champagne, but it holds its own as an aperitif-style fizz with genuine Chardonnay character.
