Blood orange has a depth that standard orange lacks, and it works well with the acidity of kombucha. The juice comes from Sicilian blood oranges, which tend towards a deeper, slightly berry-edged flavour compared to sweeter orange varieties. The fermentation tang sits underneath and adds to the citrus sharpness rather than conflicting with it. The colour is a warm coral. On the nose it is clean citrus, blood orange first. The palate follows the same line: citrus-led, a mild sourness from the kombucha, and a clean finish without much trailing sweetness. It is one of the more straightforward flavours in the Equinox range. Not complex, but honest.
