The Signature Sparkling Chardonnay takes the same clean-label approach as the rest of the Signature range: organic grapes, no added sugar, sulphites, preservatives or flavourings. The 4g of sugar per 100ml comes entirely from the grape, and the result tastes noticeably drier than many AF sparkling wines. It pours clean, bright straw with fine persistent bubbles. Mineral and bakery aromas open first, then a citrus brightness that is recognisably Chardonnay. On the palate, green apple, citrus zest and clean minerality carry through, with the carbonation adding crispness without dominating. The finish is dry and precise. In the alcohol-free sparkling category, which can tend towards sweetness and artificiality, this stands out.
