Pierre Zéro Prestige Blanc
Late-harvest Chardonnay from southern France, dealcoholised after oak barrel ageing. Rich and rounded, with ripe stone fruit, honey and a long, sweet finish.
About This Drink
This is the premium white in the Pierre Zéro range, and the production method earns it that position. The Chardonnay grapes are left on the vine longer than usual to develop extra sugar and concentration, then vinified in the traditional style with a period in oak barrels before dealcoholisation. The oak adds a layer of complexity that is absent from the standard range. It pours a bright golden yellow with shiny reflections. Ripe peach and white flower aromatics open on the nose, followed by apricot and a honeyed sweetness. The palate is soft and rounded, with apricot, vanilla and honey carrying through, framed by a gentle oak influence. The finish is long and sweet. If you want a rich alcohol-free white to serve with food, this is one of the more convincing options available.
