About This Drink
Zed pours a hazy amber with fine carbonation. The nose opens on fresh pine and grassy hops with passionfruit and a subtle peach note behind them. It's a classic Citra-forward pale ale profile - nothing unexpected, but well executed. The body is light, with mandarin and tropical fruit carrying most of the flavour before pale malt adds a gentle caramel note mid-sip. The finish is clean and dry with lingering citrus peel. Lactose adds a little body and softness without contributing any sweetness - though it does make it unsuitable for vegans. It won SIBA UK Gold in 2022 and 2023. As AF pale ales go, it sits at the lighter, crisper end of the category. Good straight from the can.
