Alefarm
Alefarm Brewing grew from a pub quiz victory at Copenhagen's Mikkeller Bar. Founder Anders Skytt Larsen discovered craft beer there in the early 2010s, started homebrewing, and kept winning local competitions with his creations. In 2015, he turned that momentum into a proper brewery.
The early focus was farmhouse ales with a Belgian sensibility but American ambition. Larsen experimented with wild yeasts and spontaneous fermentation, producing some of Denmark's first beers in that style. The brewery moved twice as demand grew, settling in Greve, about 20 kilometres south of Copenhagen, in late 2017.
Since then, Alefarm has expanded into hazy IPAs and built a serious barrel-ageing programme. Their tap room in Greve draws weekend visitors for fresh pours straight from the source.
The alcohol-free range applies the same craft approach to low-ABV brewing. Paraglow, their flagship AF option, is a double dry-hopped IPA brewed with Simcoe, Strata and Azacca hops. It delivers tropical notes of peach and pineapple with a silky, cloudy body that feels genuinely like craft beer rather than an afterthought. Other AF releases include On Dry Land and Easy Street, both pale ales sitting at 0.5% ABV.
Alefarm ships directly from their webshop across Europe, and their beers appear in specialist craft beer shops and online retailers in several countries. The AF range is a small slice of a broader craft programme, which gives it genuine provenance without the sense that alcohol-free is the whole story.
