About This Drink
Cult uses Superdelic, Nectaron and Nelson Sauvin hops, which tend toward stone fruit, tropical and grape-like notes rather than the aggressive citrus pine of most IPAs. Oats and wheat in the grain bill give haze and a smooth body without making it heavy. It's unfiltered, poured as intended. The nose is ripe peach, orange peel and mango with a subtle grape sweetness. On the palate, the fruit is generous but not cloying, moving through tropical waves into red berry territory with a candy-like edge. Carbonation is lively. The finish is clean, with a gentle hop resin note that fades quickly. It sits in an interesting position. Less aggressive than an IPA, more interesting than a standard session pale. A reasonable option for anyone finding most AF pale ales a bit flat.
