Fre Pinot Grigio is made as a conventional California wine before alcohol removal via spinning cone column brings it below 0.5% ABV. California Pinot Grigio sits in a riper, more aromatic style than its Italian counterpart, and that character survives the dealcoholisation process. The nose is gently perfumed with lychee and stone fruit. Apple and pear follow on the palate, with the crisp acidity giving it some structure. This is the lighter end of the Fre white range, with less residual sweetness than the Chardonnay or Moscato, which keeps it fresher. Serve well-chilled. Works with feta, grilled white fish or lighter pasta.
