About This Drink
Spumante Rosé is made from Glera and Pinot Noir grown on the limestone and clay hillsides of Treviso in northern Italy. The wine is cold-fermented in stainless steel to preserve aromatic precision, then matured for twelve months before a low-temperature dealcoholisation designed to hold on to balance, perlage, and the wine's core character. The pour is a soft pale rose with a fine, lively bead. The nose is fruity and immediately inviting: Nashi pear and strawberry dominate, with raspberry and elderflower adding a floral lift, and grapefruit giving a gentle citrus brightness. On the palate, the wine is light and smooth, with the same fruit character underpinned by Glera's natural acidity. The finish is clean and soft, fading without sweetness. The Pinot Noir does more than add colour: it brings a red fruit character that the Glera alone wouldn't have, while Glera's aromatic lift keeps it from feeling heavy. A straightforward, well-made sparkling rosé.
