About This Drink
Like everything in the Wild Idol range, this rosé is made by chilling the pressed grape juice rather than fermenting it and removing the alcohol later. The blend of Müller-Thurgau and Merlot is held for up to twelve months before bottling, arriving at 0.0% ABV without any mechanical dealcoholisation. In the glass it pours a pale pink with small, steady bubbles. The nose is floral with soft red fruit, strawberry sitting closest to the surface. On the palate there's crisp green apple and gooseberry, a hint of rhubarb, and a light grapefruit bite at the edges. The finish has a surprising warmth to it, with vanilla and something close to toasted almond before it fades. It lands on the sweeter, fruit-forward end of what alcohol-free sparkling wine can do.
