About This Drink
The wine comes from Domaine de la Baume in the Languedoc, southern France. Alcohol is removed through vacuum distillation over a minimum of 30 hours, a slower process than many producers use, designed to preserve the aromatic character of the grapes rather than stripping it away. The nose is dark and fruit-forward: blackberry and blackcurrant with plum in the background and a lift of spice that comes from the Syrah component. On the palate it's juicy rather than dry, with soft herbs and light tannins that keep it approachable without making it feel thin. The mouthfeel is rounded and medium-bodied, and the finish is clean, fading on fruit rather than bitterness. As 0% reds go, it has enough structure to feel like wine rather than grape juice with ambitions.
