About This Drink
Giesen 0% Riesling draws from two of New Zealand's better Riesling regions: Marlborough and Waipara. The wine goes through full fermentation before spinning cone technology removes the alcohol, carefully preserving the aromatic complexity that makes Riesling worth drinking. At 22 calories per 100ml it sits at the slightly richer end of the Giesen 0% range, reflecting the variety's naturally higher residual sugars. The nose is aromatic and lifted, with lime, citrus blossom, and elderflower coming through clearly. On the palate there is zingy lime and ripe mandarin, with a touch of sweetness that gives it an off-dry character. Bright acidity keeps things in check and the finish is crisp and clean. The aromatics are the strong point here. Riesling's floral intensity is one of the easier things to carry through the dealcoholisation process, and this holds that character well.
