Sinzero uses a rotating cone column under low pressure to remove the alcohol, which is one of the gentler methods around and tends to hold onto more of the wine's original character. A fifth of this batch spent time in French oak, which accounts for the vanilla running alongside the blackberry and raspberry fruit. It pours ruby red and sits on the lighter, softer side of the red wine spectrum. The fruit is genuine enough and the finish is soft rather than sharp. Don't expect the grip or structure of a proper Cab, but as alcohol-free reds go it holds together better than most.
