About This Drink
Radlers sit in their own awkward category: too sweet to be a proper beer, too malty to be a soft drink. This one leans into that identity rather than fighting it. The lemon is the dominant note throughout, arriving in the aroma and staying through to the finish, backed by a rounder orange underneath. There's enough malt to give it some weight, and a faint bitterness that stops it from being pure citrus pop. The mouthfeel is light with medium carbonation and a slightly sticky quality on the palate, which comes from the fructose syrup in the recipe. The finish is short and citrus-led. It's a straightforward drink that does what it says. At 0.0% ABV and 30 kcal per 100ml, it sits at the lighter end of the flavoured lager category. The sweetness level is noticeable, so if you find mainstream soft drinks too cloying you may find this similarly so. If you like a lemon radler in the summer, the alcohol-free version tastes about as you'd expect.
